Apple’s Fifth Avenue store in New York has begun installing large rectangular structures ahead of the iPhone Duo launch on Friday. The displays are being placed around the entrance to the landmark glass cube.

The installations remain covered with black cloth and white protective material. Their shapes appear to resemble giant iPhone Duo models, although Apple has not confirmed what they depict.

Fifth Avenue launch preparations

Images of the structures were posted on X by @LChenlz. There was reportedly no line outside the store yet, while customers had already begun waiting at other locations.

Apple has regularly decorated major stores for new iPhone launches. In 2024, it lit the Fifth Avenue glass cube in Apple Intelligence colors for the iPhone 16 release, while last year it installed large “Pro” and “Air” displays at several locations.

Last month, the Fifth Avenue cube was decorated in burgundy, silver and blue for the iPhone 18 Pro launch.

Apple has confirmed that its US retail stores will have a limited number of iPhone Duo units available for walk-in customers on Friday. In several other markets, including mainland China, Japan and France, stores will offer only in-store pickup for orders placed online.
