Retro game emulator Delta has launched version 2.0, with support for the iPhone Duo as its main new feature.

The update includes a refreshed Liquid Glass interface and controller skins designed for the foldable phone’s different positions. Nintendo DS layouts use the full inner display, including when the device is partly folded in portrait book mode.

In portrait orientation, Delta reflows for the closed phone’s outer display. Folding the device shut can also automatically put the virtual DS to sleep, mirroring the behavior of the physical console.

Split View uses the full display width

In landscape Split View, Delta can run beside another app. The lower half of the virtual DS is exposed to the system as a custom keyboard, allowing it to stretch across the full display and overlap part of the neighboring app.

Normally, Split View gives each app half of the screen. In this setup, a video player can remain open next to Delta while the emulator’s virtual keyboard extends beyond its assigned half.

Other changes in version 2.0

The release adds Sega Genesis ROM compatibility, improved library navigation and expanded audio settings. Game audio can now be mixed with music or a podcast already playing on the device.

Delta’s premium features are available worldwide through an App Store in-app subscription. Users in the US, EU, Brazil and Japan can also support the app through Patreon.
