Apple has released the final version of iOS 27.1 exclusively for the foldable iPhone Duo, which launched this week. The device ships with that version preinstalled but requires a newer build during setup.
The newer build has been available as an IPSW file since Thursday. Apple’s release notes mention only unspecified “bug fixes for your iPhone”; iOS 27.1 contains no security fixes.
iOS 27.2 will align the models
Apple has already moved other compatible iPhone models to iOS 27.2 beta testing. The iOS 27.2 Release Candidate is also compatible with the iPhone Duo, allowing all models to upgrade to the same version.
The release of iOS 27.2 is expected next week. The source suggests Apple kept iOS 27.1 exclusive to the Duo to prevent its device-specific software features from being revealed before launch.
