Apple’s new HomeView cannot provide some Apple Intelligence features on its own: they require a paired compatible iPhone or iPad.

Siri requests that use personal context require an Apple Intelligence-enabled iPhone or iPad running the latest software, with Siri AI enabled and set to a supported language. This allows users to retrieve relevant information from Messages and Calendar and take actions across apps.

Features without Apple Intelligence

Users with incompatible iPhones and iPads can still ask Siri general-knowledge questions, have natural conversations and receive improved music discovery. Siri requests on HomeView may be processed on the device or through Private Cloud Compute.

Restrictions on Siri voices

Adjustments to Siri’s expressiveness and speaking pace must be made on the paired device, after which the preferences carry over to HomeView. The feature requires an iPhone Duo, iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone Air, iPhone 17 Pro, or an iPad with an M4 chip or later and at least 12GB of unified memory. It is available only in English.

Camera and HomeKit recordings

Video summaries and natural-language searches of HomeKit Secure Video recordings also require setup through an Apple Intelligence-enabled iPhone or iPad and an eligible iCloud+ subscription.

HomeView launches on November 13. The tabletop and wall-mounted models will each cost $299 in the United States.
