Apple plans to unveil HomeView, a second-generation HomePod mini and an updated Apple TV 4K today at its private “Welcome home” experience in New York. Press releases are expected around 9 a.m. Eastern Time (13:00 UTC), although Apple has not confirmed the reported specifications or launch dates.

Invited reporters and content creators are expected to get hands-on time with the devices at the event. The New York experience is taking place on October 13, 2026.

HomeView is planned in two formats

HomeView is reportedly a smart-home hub with a 6-inch square display and an A18 chip for Apple Intelligence features. It is designed to manage smart-home accessories and security, display photos and calendars, play music and support FaceTime video calls.

The tabletop model is expected to use a metal speaker base, while the wall-mounted version will have a flat, square plate. The tabletop device is reportedly planned in Gray, Silver, Starlight and Rose; the wall-mounted model would be limited to Gray and Silver.

The hub is expected to support multiple users and run a new operating system that may be called homeOS. Reported features include clock faces and widgets. HomeView is also said not to include an App Store for third-party apps.

Apple Home Collection accessories

Apple may introduce a related collection of accessories developed with LG and Schneider Electric. The reported lineup includes a smart doorbell, deadbolt lock, thermostat, temperature sensor, indoor and outdoor security cameras, and a floodlight camera.

Reported HomePod and Apple TV upgrades

The new HomePod mini is rumored to use the S10 chip from the Apple Watch Series 10, replacing the S5 chip in the current speaker released in 2020. Reported new color options include pink and green.

The updated Apple TV 4K may feature an A19 chip, Siri AI support and a redesigned Siri Remote with a built-in speaker to make the remote easier to locate. It is also expected to receive Apple’s N1 chip with Wi-Fi 7 support.

The new HomePod mini and Apple TV 4K are reportedly due to launch Friday, October 30. HomeView is apparently not expected to launch until mid-November.
