Apple announced HomeView, a tabletop or wall-mounted smart home hub with a 7-inch Liquid Retina display and Siri AI.

The device costs $299, with sales beginning November 13. Pre-orders start today, but HomeView will not be available in the European Union.

HomeView has an aluminum body, a domed speaker base and a stainless steel tilting hinge. Its display supports True Tone and automatic brightness from 0.3 to 500 nits.

Personalized profiles for six people

HomeView recognizes up to six users and adjusts its interface according to viewing distance, showing larger elements from across a room and more detail up close. Each person gets a separate Home Screen with apps and widgets, while shared photo albums and music remain available to users and guests.

The device can show photos, weather and time information, smart home controls, and up to nine camera feeds at once.

Siri AI and home features

When paired with a compatible iPhone or iPad, Siri AI can take actions across apps and surface information from Messages, Calendar and Apple Music. Siri conversations sync across devices, and users can adjust the assistant’s voice pace and expressiveness.

HomeView supports FaceTime with Center Stage, Intercom and Handoff for continuing audio playback from an iPhone. Its audio system includes two full-range drivers, a down-firing woofer and two passive radiators; multiroom audio is also supported.

Apple says HomeView can turn web recipes into step-by-step instructions, track ingredients and control timers hands-free.

The tabletop version comes in silver, starlight, rose pink and space gray. The wall-mounted model is available in silver and space gray and supports three Schneider Home mounting options.
