Apple has introduced HomeView, a smart home display with Siri AI, FaceTime and controls for lighting, temperature, locks and security cameras.

The device costs $299 in the US, with sales starting November 13. Preorders are already open in the US, Australia, Canada, India, New Zealand and the UK.

Display and personal access

HomeView features a 7-inch Liquid Retina display with True Tone. Brightness automatically adjusts from 500 nits during the day to 0.3 nits in darkness, while the interface shows more detail as a user approaches.

The device recognizes up to six people and provides each with a personalized home screen. Personal messages and calendar entries are shown only after the owner is identified and a recently unlocked iPhone or iPad is detected.

Siri AI and home controls

Siri AI, powered by Apple Intelligence, supports more natural conversations, improved context understanding and access to calendar, messages and other app data from a compatible iPhone or iPad.

HomeView supports music and video playback, FaceTime, Apple Podcasts, Apple TV, Apple News and third-party apps. Home Camera can display up to nine video feeds at once, while compatible cameras with iCloud+ can identify people, pets, packages and vehicles.

Design and privacy

HomeView can sit on a desk or mount to a wall. The desk version comes in four colors, while the wall version is available in silver and space gray, with USB-C, mains-power and Ethernet-based PoE options.

The device runs on Apple’s A18 chip and uses Secure Exclaves to isolate camera and microphone data. Apple says Siri AI requests are processed on-device or through Private Cloud Compute, and data sent for cloud processing is not stored.

A mains-powered wall mount starts at $79.95, while the $129.95 PoE mount is expected in early 2027. HomeView will not initially be sold in the European Union because Siri AI is unavailable in iOS there.
