Halide 3.2 adds full manual aperture control for iPhone 18 Pro
Halide 3.2 for iPhone 18 Pro lets users select any aperture value across the camera’s full variable range. The update also adds two photographic looks and a 16:9 shooting mode.
Halide Mark III has been updated to version 3.2, adding expanded support for the iPhone 18 Pro’s new variable-aperture camera.
Apple’s stock Camera app offers four aperture settings from ƒ/1.48 to ƒ/4.0, while Halide lets users select any value within the lens’s full range.
Two aperture-control modes
In Aperture Priority mode, users set the ƒ-stop while the app selects shutter speed and ISO for proper exposure. Manual mode provides control of all three settings, including ISO, which Apple’s stock Camera app does not offer manually.
Apple says the iPhone 18 Pro’s variable aperture delivers about 50 percent better low-light performance and provides optical control over depth of field. Halide is also considering f-stop presets in future updates based on user feedback.
New looks and 16:9 shooting
Version 3.2 adds two photographic looks, Dawn and Quicksilver. Dawn combines warm mid-tones and highlights with rich, gentle shadows, while Quicksilver uses high contrast and muted color to simulate a silver-retention process.
The update also introduces a 16:9 shooting mode for wider framing.
Halide 3.2 is available on the App Store. It costs $69.99 as a one-time purchase or $19.99 for an annual subscription.
