Apple has released iOS 27.0.1, an iPhone software update addressing bugs that appeared after iOS 27 launched.

The update is available through Settings → General → Software Update. Apple has also released iPadOS 27.0.1, whose release notes mention only general bug fixes for iPad.

Fixes for iPhone 18 Pro

iOS 27.0.1 addresses unexpected restarts on iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max after Face ID failed to authenticate the user. Apple had previously said a fix for the issue would arrive this week.

The update also fixes a color artifact that could appear in photos captured at 2x under certain lighting conditions with an f/1.48 aperture. Apple said the problem affected a small number of iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max devices.

Touchscreen unresponsiveness

Another fix covers opening Notification Center and Control Center simultaneously, which could leave the touchscreen unresponsive. Unlike the two iPhone 18 Pro-specific issues, this bug affected all iPhone models.

Apple’s release notes do not list every change, so iOS 27.0.1 may include other unspecified bug fixes for older iPhones. iOS 27 launched two weeks ago, and the new version addresses some issues identified after the public release.
