Rockstar has released a new Grand Theft Auto VI trailer, again confirming the game’s release date as 19 November. The video also showed missions involving the two main characters, Jason and Lucia.

Pre-orders opened at midnight on 25 June in the UK and other countries. Customers will be able to start pre-loading the console version on 12 November.

Editions, prices and platforms

GTA 6 will launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S. Rockstar has not announced a PC release date and has not confirmed support for Nintendo Switch 2.

The standard edition will cost £69.99 in the UK and $79.99 in the US. An expanded edition with additional vehicles and weapons will cost £89.99 and $99.99 respectively. Physical copies will include a code for a digital download instead of a disc.

Lucia, Jason and Leonida

Lucia will be the first playable female protagonist in a 3D game from the main series. She and Jason will be at the centre of a story about a criminal couple after an easy score goes wrong.

The game is set in the fictional state of Leonida, Rockstar’s version of Florida. Vice City, inspired by Miami, will return as the state’s main city.

Online mode and development

Rockstar has not said whether an updated online mode will be available at launch. The PlayStation Store listing describes the game as single-player, but that does not confirm that a future online component will not be added.

The release has already been delayed twice, from autumn 2025 and May 2026. When announcing the second delay, Rockstar said it needed additional months to finish the game.

Analysts estimate development costs at more than $1bn, although Rockstar has not confirmed that figure. For comparison, GTA 5, released in September 2013, has sold nearly 230 million copies.
