Nobunaga’s Ambition 2 joins Console Archives on Nintendo Switch 2 on September 10

Hamster will release the strategy game Nobunaga’s Ambition 2 on Nintendo Switch 2 through the Console Archives series on September 10.

The digital version will cost $7.99. English support is limited to the options and manuals; the rest of the game is in Japanese.

Campaign to unify Japan

The original Nobunaga’s Ambition 2 launched in 1990 for an 8-bit home console. Players take the role of a Sengoku daimyo, develop their fief, manage retainers and use warfare and diplomacy to unify 38 fiefs across regions including Kanto and Chubu.

The game includes two scenarios, HEX battles for both open-field and siege encounters, and approximately 400 historical samurai. Progress depends on managing distinctive officers, strengthening territories and choosing tactics.

Console Archives features

The Console Archives series brings classic console games to modern platforms. Nobunaga’s Ambition 2 includes customizable button layouts, rapid-fire settings, multiple save points, screen-layout options and CRT-style filters; some games in the series also support rewinding.
