Nintendo airs Zelda Direct for 40th anniversary: live at 3pm UK, ~30 minutes

Nintendo is holding the first of two Direct showcases focused on The Legend of Zelda today. The company said the show starts at 3pm UK time and will last roughly 30 minutes.

Nintendo described the broadcast as containing "a variety of The Legend of Zelda-related information" about the series' 40th anniversary; it did not specify exact contents in its announcement.

Media and fans have suggested several possibilities—none confirmed by Nintendo—including a full reveal and release date for the Ocarina of Time remake (previously said to release this year), a proper trailer for The Legend of Zelda film, Switch ports or remasters of Wind Waker and Twilight Princess, Oracle of Seasons/Ages remakes in the Link's Awakening style, a remake of A Link to the Past, or a look at the next mainline Zelda title.

Discussions have also included potential merchandise and special editions such as new amiibo and a limited-edition Zelda-themed Switch 2. These ideas are speculative and were not listed in Nintendo's official Direct announcement.
