Apple has released the second developer beta of iOS 27.2 for iPhone. The update arrived five days after the first beta.
The release follows the public launch of iOS 27 on September 14. Apple is skipping iOS 27.1 for most models; the source describes that version as focused on the foldable iPhone Duo.
Features introduced in the first beta
The first iOS 27.2 beta added Apple’s redesigned Health app, originally announced during the iPhone 18 Pro event. Siri also gained support for French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Spanish.
In Apple Podcasts, Up Next was renamed New Episodes, while Continue Playing was moved directly below it. Episode lists also received backgrounds matched to podcast colors.
Apple Music now uses less of the icon’s color for labels in the app. Apple said the new features and changes in the second beta would be reviewed separately as they are discovered.
iPhone Duo development support
Apple has described the iOS 27.1 SDK as enabling developers to use the iPhone Duo display. On Friday, the company also released the Xcode 27.1 beta with an iPhone Duo simulator and app-development support for the new foldable iPhone.
