CS2 pros back 360 Hz as the sweet spot for competitive FPS
Counter-Strike 2 players Oscar Bell (“Azuwu”) and Simon Boije (“yxngstxr”) agreed that gains from ultra-high refresh rates diminish quickly. They noted that 600 Hz offers little benefit without a system delivering 600 frames per second.

Counter-Strike 2 professionals Oscar Bell (“Azuwu”) and Simon Boije (“yxngstxr”) backed the view that 360 Hz is a practical sweet spot for competitive first-person shooters.
Both players represent Luminosity. They discussed refresh rates at Logitech’s G Play event in Warsaw, which included a Counter-Strike 2 tournament.
Players compare 360 Hz and 600 Hz
Bell said he no longer wants to return to 240 Hz after moving to 360 Hz, but considers 360, 400 and 600 Hz broadly similar. He also noted that many computers cannot consistently produce 600 frames per second.
Boije described the value of 600 Hz as partly personal and said a 600 Hz display paired with a game running at about 300 frames per second provides little benefit.
The article’s author gave his own example: a system with a Ryzen 7 7800X3D and Radeon RX 9070 XT usually reaches about 500 frames per second in Counter-Strike 2, even at 1280×960 or 1080p.
Zowie DyAc improves motion clarity
Boije said Zowie’s DyAc technology makes a more noticeable difference for professional play. The system uses backlight strobing to reduce motion blur, making player outlines easier to distinguish.
Luminosity uses Zowie monitors. Bell, however, said the effect is difficult for him to notice, although he keeps the feature enabled.
The players’ comments point to diminishing returns as refresh rates rise. That supports 360 Hz as a strong target for competitive FPS, without establishing that every higher refresh rate performs identically.
