Take‑Two CEO Strauss Zelnick: GTA 6 launches on consoles first; PC is 'becoming more and more important'

At Take‑Two’s annual shareholders meeting Strauss Zelnick addressed questions about Grand Theft Auto 6 and confirmed the title will debut on consoles.

Zelnick said the company’s strategy is to release over time for “platforms for which there’s a meaningful audience,” but that does not always mean simultaneous launches for every platform. He added that the PC platform is “becoming more and more important” to the company over time.

He framed the exchange as primarily about “the cadence of PC launches,” and did not provide a PC release date. Zelnick also emphasized that GTA 6 is presented as a singleplayer experience while GTA 5 Online “continues to be a robust business” that Take‑Two will keep supporting.

Public information states Grand Theft Auto 6 is scheduled to launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S on November 19. Discussion at the meeting noted a PC version will arrive later, but no specific timing for PC was given.

In May Zelnick had said PC can account for up to half of total sales for major game releases; that remark was referenced during the meeting as contextual background to platform‑release decisions.
