Donald Trump’s decision to use Super Intelligence instead of Artificial Intelligence has driven a surge of interest in Slovenia’s.si domain. The two-letter abbreviation SI matches the country’s national domain code.

Registry SI created a dedicated page to track new registrations daily. At the time of checking, it listed 267,832 registered domains, including 46,066 added over the previous month and 11,570 in the previous 24 hours.

From UN address to executive order

The first signal came on September 22, during Trump’s speech to the 81st UN General Assembly. On September 29, the US president signed Executive Order 14434, “Inaugurating the Era of Super Intelligence.”

The order directs US federal departments and agencies to use Super Intelligence and SI instead of Artificial Intelligence and AI in official correspondence, public notices, documents, reports and websites. The administration has 60 days to propose a separate federal definition of Super Intelligence.

The order does not change global standards

The document applies to the US executive branch and does not rename the technology internationally. It also does not automatically rewrite US laws: for the order’s purposes, SI remains tied to the existing statutory definition of artificial intelligence.

Registry SI links the creation of its tracking page to the rise in registrations, but the figures do not prove that every new domain was bought because of Trump’s decision. It is also unclear whether SI will become a lasting term in the technology industry.

The interest in.si recalls the earlier boom around Anguilla’s.ai domain, but this time the trigger was a change in official terminology by the US administration.
