Apple launches Siri AI beta with personal context and systemwide app actions

Apple released Siri AI, a new version of its voice assistant powered by Apple Intelligence. It is available in beta with iOS 27, iPadOS 27, macOS 27, watchOS 27, and visionOS 27.

Siri AI is now available in English, with French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish support planned for next month. The assistant can hold more natural conversations, use context from messages, emails, and photos, and perform actions across apps.

Context and app actions

Siri AI can draft an email, edit and share a group of photos, and search information stored on a device. Apple also said the assistant can answer questions across a broad range of topics and understand what is displayed onscreen.

The Apple Intelligence update adds capabilities to Photos, Safari, Mail, Messages, Phone, Calendar, Shortcuts, and Home. Photos gains Spatial Reframing, Extend, and an improved Clean Up tool, while Image Playground can now create images including photorealistic ones.

Availability and limits

Siri AI will initially be unavailable in the European Union on iOS, iPadOS, and watchOS. Apple also said Siri AI and other new Apple Intelligence features will not be available in China while it works through regulatory requirements.

Features using server-side models may have daily limits based on the feature, request complexity, system demand, and other factors. Apple said expanded access will be available for a fee in the future.

Apple plans to add audio and health capabilities later this year, including Sound Recognition, Live Rewind, and Siri Recap for Apple Watch. Apple Intelligence supports compatible iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, and Vision Pro models, although availability varies by language and region.
