Wreck Runners opens September Update playtest for Xbox Insiders
Xbox Series X|S players can freely test an unreleased Wreck Runners build featuring content planned for the September Update. The playtest runs from September 4 to 9, and the developers are requesting reports about bugs and localization issues.
Wreck Runners developers have opened a free playtest of the upcoming September Update for all Xbox Series X|S players. A copy of the game is not required, and participants can bring up to three friends.
The test runs from September 4 at 10:00 AM PT (17:00 UTC) to September 9 at 10:00 AM PT (17:00 UTC). It uses an unreleased development build, so bugs may occur and some content can change before the update launches.
New locations and threats
The build adds Temples, a new location type for exploration and salvage, along with a dangerous underwater enemy. It also includes new hazards, interface improvements and Paranormal Progression, which gives crews additional choices during a run.
Trustwell Lost Salvage is another addition, rewarding exploration beyond familiar areas.
Fifteen additional languages
The playtest supports 15 additional languages: Arabic, German, Latin American Spanish, French, Italian, Japanese, Kazakh, Korean, Polish, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian, Turkish, Ukrainian, Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese. The developers are particularly seeking reports about unclear, unnatural, untranslated or difficult-to-read text.
To join, players must open the Xbox Insider Hub on their console, complete registration, then install Wreck Runners Playtest from the Microsoft Store. Problems can be reported through “Report a problem” under the Games category and Wreck Runners Playtest subcategory.
The developers say the September Update is still being developed. Player feedback will be used to improve the game before release.
