Inzoi director announces Canvastown multiplayer mode — shared online space for about 50 players

Inzoi director Hyungjin "Kjun" Kim announced a new mode called Canvastown that shifts play from a bird’s‑eye life simulation to single‑character roleplay.

Players will create a Zoi and customise a house, then enter a dedicated online area named 'AR Company' where, according to Kim, around 50 people can ‘‘converse and interact in the same channel under mutual consent.’’ NPC Zois will also appear, and Kim said players can ‘‘assign roles and cast your actors to create your scenario.’’

Canvastown will support so‑called "script mods" intended to enable mini‑games — Kim gave car racing as an example — and he hopes those mini‑games "can later be added to the main game as well." Kim did not specify whether players will be able to author those script mods themselves.

Kim compared the intended experience to the movie Ready Player One, saying he wants players to be able to ‘‘step away from reality into this world of Inzoi where they can live out a different life.’’ He added that the current build still has many shortcomings: "Looking at the current build makes me sigh. There are so many lacking areas, and we have a very long way to go." He stated that Canvastown is a "side project" and that Inzoi Studio remains "very much focused on our core goals."

The announcement did not include release dates or a roadmap. The update also comes amid earlier criticism of Inzoi's early access—Mollie Taylor described it as a "shallow imitation" of The Sims—and notes that Paralives has been cited as stronger in early access.
