Hela: Of Mice & Magic will launch on Xbox Game Pass on December 1, 2026, the same day it arrives on Xbox Series X|S.

Brewing is one of the game’s central progression systems. Players gather plants and other magical ingredients while exploring forests, meadows and wetlands inspired by Northern Sweden.

Recipes require hands-on actions

Brewing takes place at the witch’s cottage and is not handled through a simple crafting menu. Each recipe has its own ingredient combination and sequence of actions, with no two brews playing exactly alike.

The developers say the system is intended to encourage experimentation. Ingredients can produce brews that help woodland creatures and communities or improve the characters’ abilities.

Remedies reshape exploration

The most significant brewing results are magical tools called Remedies. They provide new ways to move through the environment, overcome obstacles, interact with others and approach puzzles.

In co-op, players can combine different tools and abilities. The developers say every puzzle can be completed solo, while cooperative play may lead to unexpected solutions.
