GTA 6 receives 18+ ratings as reports point to possible sex scenes

Leaked age-rating data for GTA 6 may point to sexual content in the game. If confirmed, it would be the first entry in the series to show sexual intercourse directly in the game.

New Zealand’s PlayStation Store lists GTA 6 as Restricted 18. The classification bars people under 18 from accessing the content, even with a parent or guardian present.

PEGI sex label remains unconfirmed

Reddit user AashyLarry posted an image of a PEGI rating that they said briefly appeared in the system. The image allegedly showed GTA 6 with an 18 rating and a “sex” descriptor, but PEGI and other official bodies have not published final rating data on their websites.

Australia was previously reported to have assigned the game an X 18+ rating, while New Zealand has now reportedly joined the countries listing strict age restrictions. However, Restricted 18 alone does not prove that sexual scenes are present: GTA 5 received the same New Zealand rating despite not containing comparable scenes. Other content may also have influenced the classification.

Cyberpunk 2077 carries the same Restricted 18 rating in New Zealand and includes sex scenes and full nudity. For GTA 6, the claim remains unverified, and any possible built-in content would be separate from the Hot Coffee modification for GTA: San Andreas.

Earlier reports said Rockstar was preparing regional versions of GTA 6 with restrictions. As a result, any explicit scenes, if present, may not be available in every country.
