Deleted PEGI rating details graphic violence and drug use in GTA 6
Grand Theft Auto 6 received an 18 rating from PEGI, but the detailed listing was later deleted. It described realistic violence, decapitation, frequent drug use and sexual content.
PEGI gave Grand Theft Auto 6 an 18 rating and later deleted the page containing its detailed justification. The listing described violence, drug use and sexual content in greater detail than the shorter ratings issued elsewhere.
The deleted text said the game contains bloody, highly realistic violence, with some weapons capable of causing detailed decapitation and dismemberment.
Drugs usable from the inventory
PEGI described illegal drug use as “frequent and prominent”. The listing said Jason and Lucia can use drugs directly from the inventory, including snorting cocaine from their hand at any time.
Sexual content in the game
The rating also referred to scenes of intercourse, occasional sexual fetishes and a strip-club minigame. Players can pay for private dances and move their hands onto dancers’ breasts and buttocks.
Grand Theft Auto 6 is scheduled for console release on November 19. A PC release date has not been announced.
