Apple has introduced the Apple Home Collection, a smart-home accessory lineup developed with LG Electronics and Schneider Electric. It includes cameras, a door lock, thermostats and sensors designed to work with Apple’s new HomeView hub.
The devices can be set up with a single tap on an iPhone and controlled through the Home app or Siri. The collection launches in December, while select accessories will not arrive until early 2027.
LG cameras and smart lock
The $249.95 LG Video Doorbell has two cameras: a 2.5K front camera and an HD bottom camera. It also includes a spotlight and a chime that can play through HomeView, HomePod or HomePod mini.
The camera lineup includes the $299.95 LG Outdoor Cam, with low-color night vision; the $199.95 LG Indoor Cam, which tilts upward for privacy when people are home; and the $399.95 LG Floodlight Cam, whose two floodlights activate when motion is detected.
The $349.95 LG Smart Deadbolt Lock supports UWB and can unlock automatically as the homeowner approaches. It also supports a PIN and a concealed backup key slot, and detects whether the door is open, closed or tampered with. The doorbell and lock can work together, allowing users to see visitors and unlock the door when needed.
Thermostats and room sensors
The LG Thermostat and Schneider Electric Thermostat each cost $199.95. Both support Adaptive Temperature and work with separate temperature and humidity sensors priced at $39.95.
In the U.S., the LG thermostat can activate heating or cooling during lower-cost periods for users with a compatible utility plan. It can also read temperature and humidity across multiple rooms.
The cameras work with iCloud+ plans. Live footage and camera activity can be viewed in the Home app on iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple TV 4K, as well as on HomeView.
