Apple has introduced Apple Home Collection, a smart-home system for monitoring properties, managing access and automatically adjusting temperature. The devices work through Apple Home, support Siri and use end-to-end encryption.

The lineup includes four LG cameras, a video doorbell, a smart lock and two thermostats. Sales begin in December 2026, with some accessories arriving in early 2027.

LG cameras record without Wi-Fi

The cameras can recognize people, familiar faces, pets, vehicles and packages, and record at up to 2.5K resolution. Built-in storage allows recording to continue without Wi-Fi; event history can be stored in iCloud+ for 10 days.

LG Video Doorbell Wired combines a 2.5K main camera with a Full HD lower camera. LG Floodlight Cam has two motion-activated floodlights and color night vision, while Outdoor Cam is designed for exterior monitoring. Indoor Cam changes its viewing angle automatically and stops tracking when the first resident returns home.

With a compatible iCloud+ subscription, Apple Intelligence can create short video descriptions and support searches using ordinary language.

The lock supports digital keys

LG Smart Deadbolt Lock uses Ultra Wideband and can unlock automatically when an owner approaches with a digital key on a compatible iPhone or Apple Watch. Touch unlocking, a PIN and a concealed mechanical key are also available.

The lock alerts users when a door is opened, closed or subject to an attempted break-in. Guests can receive access through Apple Home, while Matter and Aliro allow core functions to work locally without an internet connection.

Thermostats start at $199.95

The LG Electronics and Schneider Electric thermostats adjust temperature based on whether residents are home, preparing for sleep or away. Temperature and humidity sensors help monitor conditions in different rooms.

Schneider Home Smart Thermostat starts at $199.95, while LG and Schneider Electric temperature sensors start at $39.95. In the US, a compatible electricity tariff can shift heating and cooling to lower-priced periods.

LG cameras will be sold in the US, Canada and the UK; the lock in the US and Canada; and the thermostats and sensors in the US and Canada. A suitable iCloud+ subscription is required for recording history and AI features, and some functions depend on a compatible home hub.
