Ukraine has video evidence of at least five interceptors being used against jet-powered Geran-5 strike drones. The systems include products from several manufacturers, while one interceptor supplied by the Serhiy Prytula Charity Foundation has not been identified.

According to Ukraine’s Air Force, Russia used about 350 jet-powered drones in June 2026, 1,500 in July and 2,850 in August. By the end of September, the number launched since the start of the year had reached thousands.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy published the first publicly demonstrated episode on September 19. The video shows a Ukrainian interceptor catching and striking a Geran-5; the SBU reported a second successful use of the system the same day.

Five systems with video evidence

The list also includes STING S from the Wild Hornets team. The Rubin crew of the 1020th Anti-Aircraft Missile Regiment released footage of it destroying a Geran-5. For longer-range operations, the team uses the Hornet Vision CTRL remote-control system. The manufacturer says STING S has destroyed several Geran-5 drones and about a dozen Geran-4 drones.

SPYS, made by WIY Drones within the German-Ukrainian joint venture Quantum WIY Industries, has also been shown striking a Geran-5. Its stated top speed is up to 500 km/h, while tests were reported to have reached about 600 km/h. The interceptor carries a 300-gram warhead, has a basic range of up to 12 km and an endurance of about five minutes.

On September 28, the Yastreb crew of the 1020th regiment in Chernihiv region destroyed a Geran-5 travelling at about 425 km/h and at an altitude above 3 km. The interceptor’s name was not disclosed: the Prytula Foundation contracted several manufacturers, so the platform cannot be identified from that video alone.

P1-SUN JetKiller in combat use

Another confirmed interceptor is SkyFall’s P1-SUN JetKiller. Its stated specifications include a top speed of 370 km/h, an operating altitude of up to 9,000 metres, about 15 minutes of flight time and a payload of up to 500 grams.

On September 30, another JetKiller interception of a jet-powered Geran-5 was reported. SkyFall has said the system has destroyed more than a dozen jet-powered Shahed drones; Reuters also reported on its combat trials.

The interceptors use different approaches, including electric and turbojet propulsion, remote control and automated guidance. The five videos do not, however, establish a systemic solution: the Prytula Foundation says Ukrainian manufacturers are still adapting the systems to new Russian drone variants.
