Diablo 5 at BlizzCon: procedural dungeons, more classes and Diablo 2-style loot

Blizzard revealed gameplay details for Diablo 5 at BlizzCon 2026: the sequel will use procedural dungeons, replace towns with an NPC caravan, and adopt inventory and item-requirement systems reminiscent of Diablo 2. The game targets a spring 2029 release window and remains work-in-progress.

  • Diablo 5 will feature procedurally-generated dungeons and revisitable open regions that change over time.
  • Traditional towns are replaced by an NPC caravan that issues all sidequests.
