NVIDIA VBIOS Vix removes RTX 50, 40 and 30 limits without reflashing
Developer Panchovix released NVIDIA VBIOS Vix to modify GPU power, voltage and clock limits without changing the original VBIOS. The mod supports RTX 50, 40 and 30 cards, with experimental RTX 20 support.

Developer Panchovix released NVIDIA VBIOS Vix, a mod that lets owners of RTX 50, 40 and 30 graphics cards change VBIOS settings without reflashing the chip itself.
The software changes power, voltage and clock limits and allows manual control of the cooling system. RTX 20 support is listed as experimental.
Power limits for three cards
Panchovix demonstrated the mod on an RTX 5090, raising its available power limit from 600W to 800W. The RTX 5080 limit increased from 360W to 500W, while the RTX 4090 limit rose from 550W to 671W.
These figures are configurable power limits, not measured in-game consumption or confirmed performance gains.
The original VBIOS remains unchanged
The mod creates a modified VBIOS copy and loads it through the NVIDIA driver. On Windows, it uses a registry-based substitution mechanism and restarts the graphics card; on Linux, it relies on modified open NVIDIA kernel modules.
The tool is intended for experienced users. Changing factory limits can cause instability, overheating, excessive current through power connectors or component damage.
The project is available on GitHub with source code and instructions. The Windows installer supports tested NVIDIA driver branches 616.x and 617.x, starting with version 616.56; the Linux implementation currently works with 615.x drivers. The developer also notes that NVIDIA could block the mod in the future.
