Apple leaks new iPad mini details as Siri settlement claims open

Apple generated several hardware stories this week, while eligible iPhone owners in the United States could begin seeking payments over delayed Siri AI features.

Leaks covered the next iPad mini, HomePod mini and Apple TV 4K models. They are likely to be announced in October alongside another product launch wave and a new operating system.

New Apple hardware details

The next iPad mini is reportedly set to use an A20 Pro chip, a redesigned speaker system and a landscape front-facing camera. Images point to green and pink HomePod mini versions, while Apple code indicates a fourth-generation Apple TV 4K after a four-year gap.

A separate code leak confirmed details about a 12th-generation iPad, although its launch is not expected until early next year.

Siri AI settlement claims

The U.S. class-action settlement website is now accepting claims. Apple agreed in May to pay $250 million, while denying the lawsuit’s allegations and saying the settlement avoids the costs and risks of a trial.

Eligible iPhone owners can submit claims from September 21 through December 21 this year. The estimated payment is $25 per device, though the final amount may vary; the maximum is $95.

iPhone 18 Pro Max shipping limit

The iPhone 18 Pro Max has a single-cell battery capacity above 20 watt-hours, triggering additional shipping requirements. Firmware keeps the battery below 20Wh until delivery, with the limit removed after activation.

For repairs, trade-ins or other shipments, users must activate Prepare to Ship. The feature discharges the battery below the threshold and maintains the limit during transit.

Beats 360 and iPhone Duo

Apple launched Beats 360 at $349.99. The headphones use a new acoustic architecture, offer up to 1.75 times more active noise cancellation and raise output by 12dB compared with Studio Pro while maintaining low distortion.

Beats 360 will not replace Studio Pro, which remains in the lineup at a reduced $299.99 price. Swappable ear and headband cushions allow users to combine colors and materials.

Apple hardware engineering vice president Tom Marieb told TechRadar that the iPhone Duo’s matte nano-texture display is intended to reduce glare and make its crease less visible. He also asked people to hold Apple accountable for crease visibility over time.

Reported iPhone 20 Pro displays

Chinese leaker Digital Chat Station said on Weibo that the iPhone 20 Pro may have a 6.41-inch display at approximately 2,686×1,236 pixels, while the iPhone 20 Pro Max may use a 6.96-inch panel at around 2,912×1,340 pixels. The figures remain unverified ahead of the anniversary lineup’s expected 2027 launch.
