Logitech Replay picks poor Counter-Strike clips, but works as a manual recorder

Logitech’s beta Replay software automatically selects and edits gameplay clips, but a Counter-Strike 2 test produced several poor choices. Users can still edit recordings manually, and Logitech lists 44 compatible games.

Logitech’s beta Replay software automatically records gameplay and uses machine learning to select moments for a short compilation. In a Counter-Strike 2 test, however, it frequently chose weak clips.

Across two matches, it included a random AWP kill from the casual game’s warm-up and footage of the player already dead, looking at the ground in spectator mode. Replay did capture some kills, but it omitted stronger moments such as Deagle kills, Scout quickscopes and a flick noscope.

Manual editing remains available

Replay lets users select clips from the full recording and alter the automatically generated result. The tester spent about five minutes creating a better compilation from a single deathmatch recording.

The software starts recording when a game is launched and opens an editor after the game ends, allowing clips to be added or removed. Users can also set a storage limit; once it is reached, older recordings are deleted.

Compatibility with 44 games

Logitech lists 44 compatible games for Replay. The test covered only Counter-Strike 2, and the tester plans to use it during another competitive match and in other games.

Replay is free to download and try. No noticeable performance impact appeared during the test, although results may vary depending on the computer’s hardware.
