A 17-year-old girl won a Jacob Elordi lookalike contest in Bristol. She did not give her name.
The contest took place at College Green and was organised by the University of Bristol student community Overheard at UoB. An estimated 500 people came to watch.
Contestants tried to recreate Elordi’s style, including his walk and Australian accent. Joey Lush came second after looking for outfit inspiration on Pinterest and taking a tote bag from a freshers’ fair.
Lush said he accepted the result and believed the winner deserved it. He suggested that her moustache may have made the difference.
Jamie Crook, a veterinary medicine student, also competed. He said Elordi’s popularity had helped his personal life and identified the accent challenge as his weakest part of the contest.
Crook said he was surprised by the turnout and nervous throughout the event. Elordi is known for roles in The Kissing Booth, Saltburn, Frankenstein, Wuthering Heights and Priscilla, as well as the HBO series Euphoria.
