Siri AI works only on newer Apple devices: the full compatibility list
Apple’s overhauled Siri AI is limited to compatible hardware, including devices with M1-generation-or-newer Apple silicon and the A18 Pro chip. Advanced voice-pace and expressivity controls are restricted to select newer models.
Apple’s overhauled Siri AI is coming with iOS 27 and related updates, but it will not run on every Apple device. Hardware compatibility is required, and the feature may also be unavailable in some regions.
Compatible hardware includes devices with M1-generation-or-newer Apple silicon and models using the A18 Pro chip. Apple Watch supports Siri AI only when paired with an iPhone that supports the feature.
Devices that support Siri AI
The compatibility list covers supported iPhone, iPad and Mac models, as well as Apple Vision Pro. Apple Watch models can use Siri AI when connected to a compatible iPhone.
Advanced voice controls
Full control over Siri AI’s speaking pace and expressivity is available on iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, iPhone Duo, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max and iPhone Air. It is also supported on iPad models with M4 or later and at least 12GB of unified memory, Mac models with M3 or later and at least 12GB of unified memory, and Apple Vision Pro with M5.
Apple says the restriction exists because its most powerful on-device AI model is limited to newer products. The company also says those models may not necessarily deliver faster Siri AI performance.
