Samsung Electronics and five other affiliates will jointly invest in Helix Digital Infrastructure, a company established by global investment firm KKR to develop artificial intelligence infrastructure.

Samsung Electronics will invest $500 million, while Samsung C&T, Samsung SDS, Samsung SDI, Samsung Life Insurance and Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance will provide the rest of the $1 billion commitment.

Helix targets the full infrastructure chain

Helix launched in June 2026. It is designed to provide integrated solutions covering hyperscale data-center development, power generation, transmission and distribution infrastructure, and fiber-optic networks. The company is led by Adam Selipsky, the former CEO of Amazon Web Services.

Alongside Samsung and KKR, Helix’s founding investors include the Kuwait Investment Authority, NVIDIA and U.S. power company Vistra. Helix is intended to help hyperscalers secure the infrastructure needed to support growing AI workloads.

Samsung brings multiple capabilities

Samsung Electronics supplies semiconductor solutions through its Device Solutions division. Its Device eXperience division provides data-center cooling systems through FläktGroup, acquired in 2025, and operates 14 production sites with a supply and service network covering 65 countries.

Samsung C&T works as an engineering, procurement and construction contractor for data-center and power projects. Samsung SDS designs, builds and operates data centers and has expanded into GPU-as-a-Service.

Samsung SDI develops uninterruptible power supplies and battery backup units for servers. It plans to explore additional opportunities involving high-output, high-capacity battery technology.
