WiCi to launch wireless external RTX 5060 Ti 16GB by year-end
WiCi is preparing the WiCi One external GPU with an RTX 5060 Ti 16GB and Wi-Fi 7 connectivity. The company says US early buyers will pay from $1,999 and promises a year-end release.
WiCi plans to release the WiCi One by the end of the year, an external wireless GPU built around an RTX 5060 Ti with 16GB of memory.
The device will connect to a PC over Wi-Fi 7 without Thunderbolt or OCuLink cables. The manufacturer says its proprietary virtual driver will present the GPU as a local graphics device.
Configuration and pricing
The base model includes an Intel Core 3 100U processor and a 1TB NVMe 4 SSD. The launch price for early buyers in the US will start at $1,999, while the regular price will be $2,599.
WiCi also plans a version with an RTX 5090, 32GB of GDDR7, a Core Ultra 7 255H processor and a 4TB NVMe 5 SSD. Wireless connectivity uses 4×4 MIMO and a 320MHz channel.
Bandwidth and test results
Wi-Fi 7 has a theoretical maximum of about 46.1Gbps, but WiCi gives a practical maximum of about 11.52Gbps for the WiCi One. The company says caching, deduplication, compression, streaming and pipeline processing will reduce the need to route every eGPU request over Wi-Fi.
In WiCi’s demonstration, the unit was positioned 50cm from a laptop. The company reported 80 FPS in Cyberpunk 2077 at 4K Ultra with DLSS 4 and 60 FPS in Black Myth: Wukong at 4K Cinematic, but those results have not been independently verified.
It remains unclear how the device will perform at greater distances, through walls or on a network with other connected devices. Wi-Fi 7 offers less bandwidth than Thunderbolt 5 and PCIe 4.0 ×4 OCuLink, so WiCi also points to rendering and AI workloads as potential use cases.
