Samsung highlights Galaxy innovations: foldables and built-in Privacy Display
Samsung outlined Galaxy features including a new foldable lineup and a built-in Privacy Display for the Galaxy S26 Ultra. The company also described Now Nudge, which can suggest context-based actions without requiring users to switch apps.
Samsung outlined a range of Galaxy features intended to help users choose a new smartphone. They include foldable devices, built-in protection against side viewing and artificial-intelligence tools.
The Galaxy Z foldable lineup includes Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Z Fold8 and Z Flip8. Samsung positions the Fold8 Ultra for performance and productivity, the Fold8 for viewing content, and the Flip8 as a compact device focused on creativity and self-expression.
Earlier this year, the company also offered the Galaxy Z TriFold, a folding phone designed to demonstrate the possibilities of a larger, more immersive display.
Privacy Display comes to Galaxy S26 Ultra
Samsung says the Galaxy S26 Ultra features the industry’s first built-in Privacy Display. The technology changes how the screen’s pixels disperse light, restricting side visibility when enabled while preserving the full display experience for the user.
The feature can be configured for specific actions, including password entry and pop-up notifications. Because Privacy Display is integrated into the screen, Samsung says it avoids trade-offs associated with some aftermarket privacy protectors, such as reduced brightness, clarity or touch response.
AI tools for everyday actions
Samsung’s AI experience is integrated into the device to assist with routine tasks. One example is Now Nudge, which can surface relevant actions at the appropriate moment.
When a user discusses evening plans in messages on a supported Galaxy device, Now Nudge can show that day’s calendar events and offer to add a new event without switching apps.
