The UK Electoral Commission fined Reform UK for failing to include publisher imprints on four campaign materials. The imprints are intended to tell voters who paid for promotional messages.
The original penalty was £1,750, due on 23 September. After Reform missed the deadline, it was increased by a quarter to £2,187; the party eventually paid it on Tuesday.
The breach involved three Reform accounts on X, Instagram and LinkedIn, which lacked digital imprints between at least November 2025 and January 2026.

In February 2026, the party also placed an imprint-free advertisement in The Telegraph promoting its shadow chancellor, Robert Jenrick. The commission’s investigation found that the advertisement was intended to promote Reform and its electoral success in the May 2026 elections, meaning an imprint was required.
The commission separately received a complaint about Reform candidate material during the Gorton and Denton by-election in February this year. The letter was designed to appear as though it had been written by local resident Patricia Clegg, although she worked for Reform, and it also lacked an imprint.
The party said the omission resulted from a printing error, with the company accidentally leaving the imprint off the material.
Jackie Killeen, the commission’s director of electoral administration and regulation, said political finance and imprint rules were intended to ensure transparency. She said the regulator took proportionate action based on each case’s circumstances and would enforce the rules where necessary.
