RadarScope comes to CarPlay with radar layers, satellite data and route navigation
RadarScope has added Apple CarPlay support in version 5.7. Drivers can view radar and satellite data, warnings and their route on the same map.
RadarScope has arrived on Apple CarPlay with version 5.7. The developers added a dedicated in-car interface rather than simply porting the iPhone app.
RadarScope uses data from more than 300 radars and displays information about severe weather. The app is aimed at meteorologists, public safety officials, storm spotters and weather enthusiasts.
Weather layers alongside navigation
The CarPlay version lets users combine their route with MRMS, single-site radar and satellite layers. Warnings, reports and ProbSevere information can also appear on the map.
Weather enthusiast Jackson said that, when single-site radar data is selected, the app can automatically switch to the radar nearest to the vehicle as it moves. The feature is particularly relevant to people tracking storms.
RadarScope is an AMS-award-winning weather visualization tool. Its initial purchase includes professional radar visualization, while optional subscription packages add further capabilities.
Version 5.7 is available for Apple platforms, excluding macOS for now. RadarScope can be downloaded from the App Store.
