Microsoft is extending Advanced Shader Delivery to all NVIDIA RTX GPUs and selected Intel graphics products. The company said the rollout is expected to be completed by the end of this month.

NVIDIA’s list covers all RTX and RTX Spark graphics processors. For Intel, Microsoft named the Arc B570, Arc B580, Core Ultra Series 2 and Core Ultra Series 3.

Precompiled shaders during game loading

Advanced Shader Delivery supplies games with precompiled shaders tailored to a specific GPU as the game loads. This is intended to reduce first-launch delays and shader-related problems.

The system differs from NVIDIA’s automatic shader compilation feature: NVIDIA’s function regenerates DirectX 12 shaders after a driver update, while ASD delivers shaders that have already been prepared.

Supported platforms and requirements

Advanced Shader Delivery requires Windows 11 24H2 or newer. Microsoft has already listed minimum driver versions for AMD RDNA 1–RDNA 4 and Qualcomm Snapdragon X2, but has not yet published driver requirements for NVIDIA or Intel.

In March 2026, NVIDIA announced a partnership with Microsoft to bring the technology to GeForce RTX by the end of the year without specifying the models. Intel confirmed support for Lunar Lake and Panther Lake at the time and launched its own shader delivery service for Arc B and Core Ultra Series 2 and Series 3.
