Meta announced new features for its Ray-Ban Display glasses and an expansion to the UK, Canada, France, Italy and Germany. The company made the announcement at Connect 2026.

Online ordering and retail sales begin today in Canada and the UK. Pre-orders in France, Italy and Germany will also start progressively today, with sales scheduled to begin on October 13.

Cycling and transit navigation

The glasses will provide voice-requested cycling directions and real-time public-transit departures. The feature will become available later this month in the US and Canada.

For walking directions, the system will be able to use visible landmarks—for example, telling users to turn at a yellow house instead of naming a street.

Holograms for video calls

After a short self-capture in the Meta AI app, users will be able to create a photorealistic digital version of their face for calls. The hologram is controlled by voice, while its model infers facial expressions from what the user says and how they say it.

The feature will begin rolling out in Early Access on WhatsApp to Ray-Ban Display users in the US later this fall.

Apps, audio and notifications

A new on-glasses Explore app and the Meta AI app will offer a growing selection of experiences for learning, exploration and play. Meta also said its AI glasses are the first consumer device to capture and experience video in Dolby Atmos.

The glasses’ calendar will show meeting attendees, allow users to accept or decline invitations, and let them join meetings. It is available in English in the US. Mirrored phone notifications are coming soon, with controls allowing users to choose which alerts to disable.

Sales in new cities

Sales in Canada and the UK will include Vancouver, Toronto and London. In France, Italy and Germany, retail sales will be available in Paris, Milan, Rome, Frankfurt, Hamburg and Munich.

Prescription lenses will be available on October 13 through Essilor Luxottica optical retail stores in France and Italy, and later this year in Germany.
