Apple is reportedly set to unveil a new Apple TV 4K on October 13. The update is expected to bring Siri AI to the streaming device alongside a major processor upgrade.

The current model, released in 2022, uses the A15 Bionic. Rumors suggest the next version will feature an A19 or A19 Pro chip.

Siri AI may reach tvOS

Apple introduced its redesigned Siri in June for iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch and Vision Pro. However, tvOS and HomePod software were the only OS 27 platforms that did not receive the new assistant in updates released last month.

On Apple TV, Siri AI is expected to improve searches for movies and shows, content recommendations and possibly the InSight feature. It may also answer general knowledge questions.

Apple code points to new hardware

Leaker Aaron Perris found a reference to a hardware model identified as “AppleTV18,1” in Apple code. The numbering pattern was also used for the iPhone 17 lineup, suggesting a possible A19-class processor.

The report’s author speculates that Apple could use the A19 Pro because, in his view, the standard A19 does not support customization of Siri AI’s voice pace and expressivity. Apple has not confirmed the specifications or launch date.
