Apple unveils new Apple TV 4K and Siri Remote with 14 changes

Apple unveiled a new Apple TV 4K and an updated Siri Remote. Both devices are available for pre-order today and launch Friday, November 13.

In the US, the new Apple TV 4K costs $299 and includes the new remote. The updated Siri Remote is also sold separately for $59.

Performance and connectivity

The new Apple TV 4K uses the A19 chip, delivering up to 50% faster CPU performance and up to twice as fast graphics as the previous A15-based model. It adds Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6, replacing Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.

Apple now offers a single 128GB configuration with Ethernet. The previous model also came in a 64GB Wi-Fi-only version. The new device is very likely to have 8GB of RAM, up from 4GB, although Apple has not confirmed that specification.

Siri and HomePod audio

Three built-in far-field microphones enable hands-free Siri AI control. Questions involving a user’s personal context require an Apple Intelligence-enabled iPhone or iPad.

Apple said Siri AI will also come to the second- and third-generation Apple TV 4K models released in 2021 and 2022 when running tvOS 27.2 or later. The new model supports surround sound with four HomePods: four HomePod mini 2 speakers or matching pairs of HomePod mini 2 and HomePod 2.

Siri Remote upgrades

The updated remote supports Find My and Precision Finding, along with a built-in speaker that plays a sound to help locate it. Precision Finding requires an iPhone 17 or newer, excluding the iPhone 17e, or an iPhone Air or iPhone Duo.

The Siri Remote works with all Apple TV 4K and Apple TV HD models released since 2015. The new remote is about 6% heavier than its predecessor, while the Apple TV 4K is about 1% heavier; its white status light is now centered on the front edge.
