Trading cards including Pokémon, sports cards and other TCG were stolen from a FedEx truck outside PSA’s Santa Ana, California, office. Police estimate the stolen collection was worth $963,000.

The theft occurred in mid-October, after several card owners were notified that their collections had disappeared. Police said the exact value has not yet been determined while the investigation continues.

Truck left unattended for up to 90 minutes

Reports say the FedEx driver left the truck unattended for approximately 60 to 90 minutes. During that time, thieves broke the lock and removed all the packages.

The Santa Ana Police Department asked anyone with information to contact investigators. FedEx said customer shipment security is a priority and that it is cooperating with local law enforcement.

PSA promises compensation

PSA confirmed it will reimburse affected customers based on the cards’ fair market value, up to the maximum insured amount. The grading company also deactivated the certificates for all stolen items, preventing them from being used as authentication records.
