iOS 27.2 arrives next week with three new features for iPhone
Apple is preparing to release iOS 27.2 next week. The update will add Group FaceTime support to Dual Capture, split the podcast queue into two sections and introduce profiles in the TV app.
Apple plans to release iOS 27.2 next week. The update brings three notable changes to FaceTime, Apple Podcasts and the TV app on iPhone.
FaceTime’s Dual Capture mode will work in group calls as well as one-to-one calls. On compatible iPhones, it shows the front- and rear-camera views at the same time; users switch on the rear camera with the “Flip” button.
Apple Podcasts splits its queue
The former Up Next section in the Apple Podcasts Home tab will be replaced by two separate areas. New Episodes will show recent releases from followed shows, while Continue Playing will collect programs that the user has already started.
The change was available for testing in the iOS 27.2 beta. The article’s author described the new layout as easier to manage, but that is an attributed personal assessment.
Profiles come to the TV app
The Apple TV app on iPhone will add user profiles, a feature previously available in tvOS. After the update, the first launch will show a profile-selection screen, which users can disable.
The selected profile will affect displayed and recommended content. With a child profile active, Apple will show only age-appropriate series and movies.
