iOS 27.2 will add three features: Group FaceTime capture, podcast queues and TV profiles
Apple is preparing iOS 27.2 with three notable iPhone changes. The update will extend Dual Capture to group FaceTime calls, split the podcast queue and add profiles to the Apple TV app.
Apple is preparing iOS 27.2 for iPhone with three new features. The changes affect FaceTime, Apple Podcasts and the Apple TV app.
Dual Capture expands to group calls
Dual Capture, which displays views from the front and rear cameras at the same time, is currently limited to one-on-one calls in iOS 27. The feature is expected to reach group FaceTime calls in iOS 27.2.
On compatible iPhone models, users can tap the Flip button to activate the rear camera while keeping the front camera live.
Podcasts gets two separate queues
Apple Podcasts will replace the Up Next section on the Home tab with two sections. New Episodes will show recent releases from followed shows, while Continue Playing will collect unfinished episodes.
The change is being tested in the iOS 27.2 beta and is intended to make new and partially played episodes easier to track.
Profiles arrive in Apple TV
The Apple TV app on iPhone will gain user profiles, bringing the feature from tvOS to iOS. After the update, the app will display a profile-selection screen on first launch, with an option to disable it.
The selected profile will affect displayed and recommended content. When a child profile is active, Apple will show only age-appropriate series and films.
