Apple has released iOS 26.7.1 for iPhones that remain on the previous operating-system branch. The update includes security and bug fixes.

Apple says it addressed an out-of-bounds write issue through improved bounds checking.

Vulnerability could enable code execution

Processing a maliciously crafted file could lead to arbitrary code execution. Apple said it is aware of a report that the issue may have been exploited in an extremely sophisticated attack against specific targeted individuals on iOS versions before iOS 27.

The update is available for iPhone 11 and later. Apple also lists support for specific iPad models: the third-generation 12.9-inch iPad Pro and later, first-generation 11-inch iPad Pro and later, third-generation iPad Air and later, eighth-generation iPad and later, and fifth-generation iPad mini and later.

Apple released iOS 26.7.1 two weeks after launching iOS 27. The company separately released iOS 27.0.1 and other bug-fix updates for devices running the newer software.
