Apple TV release date

Apple’s release metadata dates version 66.0 to October 23. An archived App Store listing from October 19 showed compatibility only with iPhone and iPad.

Instagram’s expansion to TVs

Instagram began testing its TV app on Amazon Fire TV devices in the United States in December 2025. It expanded to Google TV in February 2026 and Samsung smart TVs in June.

The initial TV experience centered on Reels arranged into channels based on viewers’ interests, with videos playing automatically. In June, Meta outlined plans to add longer creator videos, episodic series and live broadcasts.

The Apple TV app is available in the App Store. Its description lists Reels, longer videos and live shows. Instagram’s dedicated iPad app arrived earlier, in September 2025.
