Overwatch fans react to five China-exclusive skins unavailable elsewhere
Blizzard has revealed cosmetics for Overwatch’s Defiled Anthem event, but announced them only for China so far. The set includes skins for Shion, D.Mon, Kiriko, Reaper and Emre, including the transforming Evolution skin.
Blizzard has released a trailer for Overwatch’s upcoming Defiled Anthem event. The five new skins and cosmetics shown in it are currently intended for China, prompting frustration among players elsewhere.
The event includes cosmetics for Shion, D.Mon, Kiriko, Reaper and Emre. Its centrepiece is the transforming Evolution skin, which changes its sound and visual effects as a match progresses.
Blizzard has not announced availability for these items outside China. That has disappointed fans of the affected heroes, particularly Shion players.
China-exclusive cosmetics have appeared before
This is not the first regional exclusive in Overwatch. Previous examples include content tied to a Naraka: Bladepoint crossover and exclusive skins for Pharah and Mercy.
As of the trailer’s release, Blizzard has not said whether the Defiled Anthem cosmetics will reach other regions.
