NVIDIA Announces Investments in Five U.K. AI Startups
NVIDIA announced planned investments in five U.K. startups working across biology, infrastructure, algorithms and quantum computing. It will also join the Earthshot Prize as a Global Alliance Founding Partner.
NVIDIA announced planned investments in U.K. startups Boltz, Foresight, Hiverge, Prima Mente and Riverlane. The company did not disclose the value of the individual investments.
The startups work on molecular modelling, infrastructure projects, automated algorithm development, biological models and quantum error correction.
Separately, NVIDIA said it has made a five-year, $250 million commitment to strengthen the U.K.’s agentic safety and security research.
Five investment areas
London-based Boltz, founded by MIT researchers, develops biomolecular models and AI agents for predicting molecular structures and interactions and identifying potential medicines. Foresight helps owners of major infrastructure projects, including hyperscale data centers, forecast completion dates and reduce risks.
Cambridge-based Hiverge builds a system that automatically writes and optimizes algorithms for faster AI training and logistics planning. London-based Prima Mente develops biological foundation models for complex diseases, initially focusing on Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s and ALS.
Cambridge-based Riverlane develops real-time quantum error-correction hardware and software that works across major qubit types.
Earthshot Prize partnership
NVIDIA will join the Earthshot Prize as a Global Alliance Founding Partner. It plans to provide compute and technical expertise to innovators developing climate and sustainability solutions.
NVIDIA also cited deployments by U.K. companies and public institutions. Fuse Energy is moving customer AI to in-house infrastructure built on NVIDIA B300 Blackwell Ultra to serve more than 450,000 households.
In healthcare, OneAdvanced is deploying an AI-triage model for primary care, while Speechmatics is deploying its Oak multilingual medical speech-recognition model. Revolut has moved its PRAGMA model, trained on 26 million anonymized user histories, from research into real-time scaling, while Lloyds Banking Group built ATUM for banking transactions.
NVIDIA said more than 3,100 U.K. companies are part of its Inception program for technology startups. The company also said Riverlane is exploring GPU acceleration for workflows related to quantum error correction.
