Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4’s extraction and survival mode, DMZ, will launch alongside the campaign and multiplayer on October 23.
The mode is built around a Forward Operating Base (FOB), where players manage Operators, equipment and extracted loot, review missions and prepare for deployments in Hajin.
FOB expands with player progress
The initial FOB includes stations for Operators, DMZ Orders, Stash and Loadout, the Firing Range and deployment. Successful operations unlock more facilities, including a 3D Printer, Gunsmith, Vendor, Bounty Leaderboard, Boss Board and Dog Tag Case.
DMZ progression runs from level 1 to 70. Resources and 3D Printer Ingredients can be used to craft gear and upgrade FOB stations, while DMZ Cash buys weapons, attachments and other equipment. The Vendor’s inventory changes daily.
Three deployment options in Hajin
Story Missions let players replay narrative objectives, while Dynamic Operations provide DMZ Cash and XP and award a Supply Drop of increasing rarity after completion. Free Roam allows deployment without a mission.
The mode also encourages completing Orders and operations, hunting Lieutenants and Commanders, collecting loot and improving the deployment rating. The strongest rewards are tied to an S Tier performance or better in the After Action Report.
Hajin includes land, water and air vehicles, which can be repaired and refueled at Gas Stations. Each area has its own Threat Level, and loud activity can trigger a violent enemy response.
Modern Warfare 4 is available for pre-order on PlayStation 5. Additional DMZ content is planned for post-launch updates.
