Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 launches Kill Block with over 500 map configurations

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 has launched worldwide with the new Kill Block multiplayer map. Set inside the West Bridge Advanced Military Training Facility, it reconfigures between matches and during rounds.

Kill Block consists of two outer End Slabs and one central Central Slab. Their combinations create more than 500 configurations at launch, requiring players to reassess routes, cover and sightlines each time.

Modular sections and returning locations

Most sections were built specifically for Kill Block, while others draw from recognizable locations including Crash from Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, Storage Town from Verdansk in Call of Duty: Warzone, and Shoot House from Modern Warfare (2019). The surrounding randomized layout gives these areas different tactical conditions.

The map includes urban streets, military compounds and shipping containers, along with rooftops, balconies and other elevated positions. Cover includes trucks, burned-out vehicles, cars, concrete blocks, barriers and walls; some doors can be opened by shooting, forcing them open or moving through them cautiously.

Kill Block also features military-grade weather simulation arrays that can introduce rain or snow, affecting visibility and other tactical conditions.

Gunfight supports 3v3 and 10v10

At launch, the map supports 3v3 Gunfight and the new 10v10 mode. Teams fight single-life rounds with identical randomly assigned equipment and switch sides after the first round.

After round two, the three Slabs move into a new combination and players receive another loadout. The combination changes every two rounds until one team reaches six wins. If neither team is eliminated, an Overtime Flag appears and must be captured.

The West Bridge Advanced Military Training Facility is planned to support additional core multiplayer modes in future seasons. Modern Warfare 4 also includes 12 core maps, large-scale Ground War battles, four smaller Gunfight maps, and standard modes with Hardcore variants.

The game is available on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, Steam, Battle.net, Nintendo Switch 2 and PlayStation 5. Xbox Play Anywhere allows console and PC access at no additional cost.
