Apple’s own home security camera remains in development for 2027
Apple’s privacy-focused home security camera is still expected next year. Mark Gurman clarified that it is separate from the accessory lineup being developed with LG.
Apple’s own home security camera remains in development and is expected in 2027. The device is being developed separately from the accessories connected to LG.
Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman said the two projects are “completely separate.” Earlier reports said Apple’s camera would not record video, instead using artificial intelligence to analyze the home environment and identify which room a person is in.
Separate Apple and LG projects
The LG-branded lineup previously reported includes a video doorbell, deadbolt lock, thermostat, and indoor and outdoor cameras. It is not expected to launch for at least a few more months.
Bloomberg first reported an Apple home security system and service in September. The source does not provide a more precise launch date for Apple’s own camera.
